How the Night Stalker Was Finally Captured

What it took to catch California’s most famous and deadly serial killer.

In the past two weeks, most of the viewers of Netflix have watched The Night Stalker. People have been captivated by the mini-series that details the investigation into the notorious serial killer, Richard Ramirez. I have to admit that I, too, can be found guilty of being engrossed in this series.

Ramirez is better known as the Night Stalker. In the 80s, Ramirez went on an extreme rampage. He killed at least 16 known victims, sexually assaulted over 100 people, and frightened the entire state of California for years on end.

To the frightened residents of the California coast, there was simply no end to the madness. There was almost a killing per night. And there were no signs of stopping.

To the police, it seemed virtually impossible to stop this avid and evil serial killer. However, they had one clue to work with. A shoe print that was left at every single crime scene.

After many long and grueling months of investigation, the police finally received a tip on who their guy was.

A friend of Ramirez came forward to police and said that the killer had confessed all of the killings to him…
